Banco di Caribe supports SIGE for the ‘Duna un Man na bo Ruman’ project
WILLEMSTAD: For the 9th consecutive year, ‘Sentro pa Inovashon i Guia Edukashonal’ (SIGE) has organized its project ‘Duna un Man na bo Ruman’. The goal of this project is to provide underprivileged children with schoolbags and the needed school supplies, enabling them to start the school year with motivation and self-confidence.
Ready for school
After several months of preparation, the SIGE’s team was able to present the bags and materials to the teachers and organizations who submitted names of students in need of this support. A project that started as a contribution to the community has developed into an important annual event. Currently, SIGE is able to continue with this effort thanks to donations from different local companies, including Banco di Caribe.
Mrs. Solange Olaria, director of SIGE, explained that they prepared over 600 schoolbags and chose to focus on students in elementary schools this year. It’s important to encourage the youngsters much earlier in their school career. In addition to bags and school supplies, SIGE also facilitated some students with their school uniforms. The SIGE initiative is also of valuable support for parents who are unable to cover all the expenses of school supplies for their children.
Making a difference
Banco di Caribe applauds SIGE for their dedication to the project which, every year, makes the students and their families happy and enthusiastic for the new school year. As a bank that takes our corporate responsibility very seriously, Banco di Caribe is thrilled to have been a contributor to ‘Duna un man na bo Ruman’. Education is key to a better future, so Banco di Caribe wishes SIGE all the best to continue to support these students on their journey.
