It’s the holiday season … Better safe than sorry!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Many are shopping or traveling. Debit and credit cards are used more frequently, both locally and internationally. The increase in transactions is traditional, just like the season. We ask all our customers to pay extra attention when using their card(s) during these festive days.  

Travel worry-free

When traveling abroad, it is  necessary to activate your debit card for use abroad. This can be done via BdC Online at any time. If you need assistance, please click here. Remember to travel with your BdC Online Token for easy online access in case you need to check your account balance, make a transfer, or check your credit card or MultiCard transactions. Now-a-days in Curaçao and worldwide, you are required to use your credit card or MultiCard secret PIN code for transactions. If you don't have this or can’t remember it, contact the bank  as soon as possible. Please note that a fee may apply.  Also, make sure our SMS Alert service is activated to monitor the activities with your card(s). We also advice holidaymakers to take out a travel insurance. Banco di Caribe's insurance department can assist you; please schedule an appointment by sending an email to insurance@bancodicaribe.com.

Don’t lose sight

it's important that when making purchases, especially when entering your PIN, to cover the keypad with your hand to prevent others from seeing it. If you need to hand over your card for a transaction, make sure to not lose sight of it. In addition to the protection of your cards, we want you to be alert when providing your personal information to a third party. We advise you not to share your personal and financial information with persons that represent an institution or organization illegally. Please, be alert at all times, especially during the end-of-year season.

When making online purchases; please verify the legitimacy of the website before making a payment.

Lost and Found?

In case you're not sure where you left your debit card, you can go to BdC Online and block your account for card transactions. Once found, you can log in to BdC Online and unblock your account for debit card transactions. This action blocks any transactions on the account(s) linked to the card.  In case your debit or credit card is lost or stolen, please contact Banco di Caribe during office hours at +5999 432 3323 and after office hours, +5999 511 1919 for debit cards and +5999 522 7777 for credit cards.
